The Category Manager will manage strategic activities surrounding Energy related commodities. And will work to implement strategies to achieve lowest total costs, effective asset management, continuous quality improvement, delivery, payment terms improvement and overall internal customer satisfaction. The Direct Category Manager owns the AOP project deck for the specific commodities assigned.

Job-Specific Knowledge and Skills:

• Development and implementation of Annual Operating Plan (AOP) covering selected commodities.
• Maintains continuous in-depth knowledge of identified commodities, industry trends, and developing technologies.
• Establishes and manages key supplier performance goals and objectives; communicates periodic results to plan and manages top-level continuous improvement.
• Manages sourcing decisions covering selected commodities conducting competitive bid process / e-Auctions & supplier evaluation  - risk, quality, and price
• Strong financial acumen; ability to understand P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
• Cross-organizational teaming to work in a matrix environment, delivering functional and business goals
• Ability to interface with various levels of internal management and supplier management, principally at middle level
• Must possess a well grounded capability in negotiations with both internal and external suppliers and customers as required to implement sourcing strategies
• Capability to facilitate between internal technical, project managers, technicians, region leaders and outside suppliers in the area of product selection, supplier selection, and information flow within the supply chain.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor degree in Business or Supply Chain Management
• 5 years experience in Supply Chain Management

Preferred Qualifications:

• 7 years experience in Supply Chain Management with an Energy focus
• Strong negotiation skills; excellent knowledge of operations management and supply chain processes in a large organization; and knowledge of effective technology driven sourcing processes.
• Experience with a $20 million plus spend
• Leadership - strong managerial skills to work across all functions and levels of an organization; ability to lead change; effectively establishes high performing teams and role models high performance standards
• Six Sigma Green Belt a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal - crisp verbal skills, effective listening skills; effective facilitation skills; demonstrates high energy and models behaviors to motivate the team
• Ability to make sound business judgments related to strategic supply philosophies and initiatives
• Persistent drive for results utilizing sound project management, organizational and problem solving skills.
